Hello friends! Please join us This Saturday May 4th, 1-5pm for the Opening Reception of GUZMAN: Family/Values! We are excited for GUZMAN’s return to LABspace with a new exhibition of recent photographs in Gallery One Gallery Two will showcase outtakes from their famed 1992 Kurt + Courtney photo shoot for Spin magazine. These photographs will be available to purchase for the first time, at LABspace GUZMAN’s photobook of the rare Kurt + Courtney images, Family Values, comes out in June via powerHouse Books and Simon & Schuster. Forward written by Michael Azerrad Stay tuned for a book signing at LABspace in June! We’ll have limited books available for purchase at the gallery, and you are welcome to bring your own copy. Date TBD Please also watch for a feature about GUZMAN in Upstate Diary Issue 18 Of their recent work, to be exhibited in Gallery One, GUZMAN write: Rather than confronting our thoughts and ideas directly, we choose to look at things a bit more obliquely. This approach can raise more questions than answers, and that is our preferred mode of working. We are two photographers who examine the state of the world with a sideways glance. LABspace is located below Hillsdale General Store, and Cook & Larder 17 miles east of Hudson NY 17 miles north of Millerton NY 11 miles west of Great Barrington MA LABspace was founded and directed by artist Susan Jennings 2014-2018, and has been the curatorial project of artists Ellen Letcher and Julie Torres since April 2018. We are now celebrating our sixth year of programming since taking the reins, thanks to all of you and SJ!
