Hrag Vartanian and Sharon Louden in conversation |
Come to Connect: An open forum on creating the art community you want wherever you are, led by guests Hrag Vartanian and Sharon Louden at LABspace
LABspace invites you to participate in an afternoon of conversation with Hrag Vartanian and Sharon Louden on Sunday July 8th at noon. Bring a chair or blanket and join us in the garden for refreshments and an informal discussion about further connecting, fostering and expanding our growing art community.
All are welcome to participate in what we hope will be a lively, engaging talk— to add your voices, submit questions for discussion and offer your own input. Artists in our current exhibition Spatial Oddities will be available to answer questions and discuss their work.
This is a wonderful opportunity to engage with area art makers, art lovers, organizers and kindred thinkers, and to share ideas.
Refreshments served at noon, note cards available to submit questions and topics. Talk begins promptly at 12:30pm.
We hope to see you and chat with you then!

Currently on view at LABspace is Spatial Oddities: a collection of eccentric paintings, oddball constructions and confounding objects— featuring Becca Van K, Carol McMahon, Christina Tenaglia, Claire Sherwood, Claudia Tienan, Diane Dwyer, Maddi LaVallee and Susan Carr. We are thrilled to showcase this surprising work that defies categorization in a thoughtfully rigorous or playfully whimsical way. The artists and gallery have collaboratively installed this packed exhibition in our intimate art space. Spatial Oddities is a show about the love of art making and an experiment in embracing the unexpected. Artists will be available at our talk on July 8th to answer questions and discuss their work.
Spatial Oddities is on view at LABspace Saturdays 1-5pm through August 2018, or by appointment via julielabspace@gmail.com.
LABspace was founded and directed from 2014-2018 by the artist Susan Jennings with the early catalyzing help of the artist/musician Slink Moss.
