Hello friends,

GALLERY ONE

Susan Still Scott:
Arrows in my Quiver

Rooted in the tradition of abstract painting,
Susan Still Scott makes constructed paintings that explore how materials communicate, and how formal relationships develop into narratives. Urgency is expressed in quick repairs, ripped edges, and parts that do not quite meet. Colorful exteriors belie an undercurrent of anxiety by reanimating used, neglected or otherwise damaged materials. Structures are covered and revealed by layers of paint, tape and cloth. Scott posits that the presence of a painted object is felt within the body. Through her work, she reflects the contradictory emotional and physical states that shape our lives and decisions.

Pearl Cowan:
Metamorphosis
New Drawings and Paintings

Pearl Cowan writes:

Inspired by history painting and personal experience, I craft trans mythological images. These artworks reimagine the history of trans people, portraying them as powerful beings and figures of allegory. My aim is to elevate and empower the trans community through visual storytelling that blends history and personal narrative.
