We are thrilled to present Christina Tenaglia's first solo show at LABspace.

Here are a few words from Christina to describe her work in HOUSEPERSON:

Housepersons references containers, rooms, furniture, boxes, tables, holes, piles, trees, dwellings, insides and outsides. It/they are a kind of subcategory; not all works are housepersons, though there have been more then usually recently. It is hard to define what makes them different. I believe the difference exists more the way I think about them while I am working on them. They are not quite sculpture, not quite object, not quite painting, not quite drawing, not quite figure, not quite structure. They are shallow in three dimensions and deep in two dimensions. They are everyday and anti monumental.

Gallery 2— Judith Braun & Carol Diehl: Wild Cards

We are thrilled to present this pairing of two artists who (alongside their larger work and sprawling, multifaceted careers) have each created distinct series of work on an intimate scale using cards and postcards, over a period of 1 to 9 years:

In 1990, Judith changed her then married name from Weinman to Weinperson. In 1993 she began Weinpersonally Yours, a series of weekly postcards mailed to the same 300 people for one year. 26 years later, these 52 cards serve as a time capsule of Braun’s witty, bold and delightfully life-affirming communications. All 52 postcards are on view and available individually, as well as in a box set.

Carol Diehl's Collaborations is a series of drawings and collages on gallery announcement cards, dating 2010 to the present. The original cards are at once obscured and preserved, ranging from completely covered over to intricately intertwined. Through this process, Diehl has found a playful portal for interacting with each artist and venue, breathing new life into what is often discarded and forgotten, and infusing past happenings with a dose of serious fun.
